Francisco J. Rodríguez Bernier
Mr. Rodríguez-Bernier's main areas of practice include real estate, resort development, secured transactions, and general corporate matters.
Mr. Rodríguez-Bernier has advised clients (including a publicly-traded pharmaceutical company, hospitality company and consumer product companies) in the purchase and sale of businesses and commercial real estate, as well as mergers, corporate reorganizations and corporate liquidations and dissolutions. He regularly works in electronic commerce matters, for various local and international companies. He has also worked in a wide range of corporate transactions, including commercial real estate acquisitions and securities offerings.
He joined McConnell Valdés in October 2008. Before joining McConnell Valdés Mr. Rodríguez-Bernier directed the Public Sector, Higher Education and Healthcare business for Oracle Corporation in the Latin America Division, where he started as a Finance Director for the Caribbean Region. He also worked for KPMG in San Juan, Puerto Rico in the Audit Department.
He has been an active member of the Puerto Rico Certified Public Accountants Society, where he has taught various courses on eBusiness Transformation.
As a law student he published in the University of Puerto Rico's Law Review four articles: Conflicts of Law and the Internet; eGovernment and the Law; An Empirical Study of the Administrative Law in Puerto Rico; and Law and Economics, Bureaucracy and Public Administration in Puerto Rico.
In addition Mr. Rodríguez-Bernier has been a guest speaker on eBusiness and eGovernment Transformation across Latin America and in the 2007 World Congress of Computer Law in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Mr. Rodríguez-Bernier is a Certified Public Accountant.
