Henry O. Freese-Souffront is an Income Member in the Litigation Practice Group. He is part of the firm's Construction Practice Area and member of the Recruiting Committee.

Practice Areas

Mr. Freese-Souffront's main areas of practice are maritime and admiralty law, insurance law construction law, franchise law, intellectual property, and general civil and commercial litigation in both state and federal courts.

Education

Mr. Freese-Souffront obtained a Bachelor of Liberal Arts from the University of Puerto Rico, magna cum laude, and a juris doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, cum laude.

Mr. Freese-Souffront is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First and District of Columbia Circuits, and the U.S. District Court for the Puerto Rico District.

Representative Cases

• Sultán v. Pleasure Craft Contender 25', 139 F. Supp. 2d 230 (DPR), a precedent-setting case raising several issues of first impression in our circuit with regards to the supremacy of maritime law over state law. During the past years, Mr. Freese-Souffront has been involved in the management of complex construction cases and arbitration proceedings, including the Puerto Rico North Coast Superaqueduct Litigation, a multi-party, multi-million dollar construction litigation pending before the state and federal courts.
