Karen Morales-Ramírez is Counsel in the Labor and Employment Law Practice Group.

Education
She obtained a Bachelor of Liberal Arts, magna cum laude, with a concentration in Psychology, and a Juris Doctor from the Interamerican University School of Law.

Mrs. Morales Ramírez is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. She is also a notary public.

Representative Cases
Mrs. Morales Ramírez has won several civil and Labor and Employment Law cases before the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico First Instance Courts, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Circuit Court of Appeals, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico Supreme Court, and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.
Publications
Her article "Trimestrial Reports Required by Puerto Rico Employment Security Act" published in McV's Labor Perspectives, analyzed Act No. 28 of 2002, which amended the Puerto Rico Employment Security Act's provision that establishes requirements for the employer's payment of taxes or reimbursements in lieu of taxes to the Unemployment Insurance Program. Also, her article "Employers may Successfully Defend a Claim under ADA when Impairment is Alcoholism and Work is the Major Life Activity Substantially Limited by such Impairment" also published in Labor Perspectives, illustrates how an employer can successfully defend a claim under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
