Miguel Palou-Sabater is Of Counsel in the Labor & Employment Law Practice Group. He is the Chairman of the Firm's Conflict of Interest Committee. Mr. Palou joined the firm in 1996 after a twenty five year labor practice as senior partner in the Ledesma, Palou & Miranda law firm.

Practice Areas

His practice has always been in the labor and employment law field and his representation has been limited to employers, both private and public. Such practice has included litigation of all types of employment discrimination cases, wage and hour claims, union representation and unfair labor practice proceedings, and labor arbitration. It has also included collective bargaining, interpretation of labor agreements and the handling of labor disputes.

Education

He obtained a Bachelor in Arts and a Juris Doctor degrees in 1959 and 1962, respectively, from the University of Puerto Rico, and served three years in the Judge Advocate General's Corps of the United States Army, before starting his law practice.

Admissions

He is admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, the United States Supreme Court, the United States Circuit Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the United States Court of Military Appeals, and the United States District Court for the District of Puerto Rico.

Memberships

He is a member of the Puerto Rico, American, Federal Bar Associations, and the Puerto Rico-Virgin Islands Association of Labor Relations Practitioners, which he presided in 1975.
