His main practice areas are civil and commercial litigation, corporate and real estate transactions, entertainment law, and white collar criminal defense. He has performed vital roles in the negotiation and drafting of contracts for commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, stock purchase agreements, asset purchase agreements, and corporate dissolutions. As part of the Government Enforcement, White Collar and Criminal Defense team, he has defended high profile clients in criminal and regulatory investigations, as well as proceedings before the Southern District of Florida and Miami-Dade County.
Since joining McConnell Valdés, Mr. Ramos has constantly practiced before both federal and state courts in Florida and has taken prominent roles in civil litigation proceedings, including cases involving several multi-million dollar real estate properties and breach of contract claims. Furthermore, Mr. Ramos advises clients on entertainment law matters involving litigation proceedings and visa applications for individuals of extraordinary ability (EB-1; O-1).
He started his career working as a Business Attorney in a renowned business law firm in Miami, Florida. There, Mr. Ramos obtained substantial experience representing corporate clients and secured creditors in litigation proceedings for claims for breach of contract, foreclosure, claims under the Fair Labor Standard Act, claims under the American with Disabilities Act, and general commercial litigation. Also there, Mr. Ramos developed and directed the Trademarks division, providing trademark analysis, filing, prosecution, and transactions.
