Tax attorneys Carlos Villafañe, Leader of McV’s Employee Benefits Practice Team, and Mayleen Santiago have been invited by Banco Popular de Puerto Rico to participate in its yearly Retirement Plans Conference.
Mr. Villafañe and Ms. Santiago will give a Retirement Plan Compliance Update, discussing disclosure and notice requirements under ERISA and implications for non-compliance to plan sponsors, reporting and disclosure requirements under the PR Code and ERISA, the impact of new legislation on plan documents and participant’s disclosures, and related qualification of plans with the PR Treasury and the PR Treasury Department's latest trend in requesting additional information for the qualification of plans under the PR Code.
Mr. Villafañe will also be part of a legal panel discussing retirement-related developments and the latest legislation impacting PR-qualified retirement plans.
