To mark our 70th Anniversary, we are creating a scholarship program for law students at the University of Puerto Rico School of Law, which will be known as the McConnell Valdés/Antonio Escudero Viera Scholarship Program, in recognition of Antonio Escudero Viera, a retired capital partner and former Managing Director of the Firm, and Ad Honorem Professor of the School for the past forty-five years.
The Scholarship Program will provide economic assistance to university students pursuing legal studies. Second and third year law students who demonstrate economic need, academic achievement, leadership and an interest in community service can be considered for the scholarship. The Program will be managed by the Puerto Rico Community Foundation, and will provide financial assistance to cover the costs of tuition, fees and expenses related to obtaining a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. The scholarship will provide a benefit of up to $5,000 per student per year for qualifying students.
