His areas of practice include real estate, commercial leasing, condominium law, construction contracting, commercial financing, secured transactions, and the hospitality industry.
He has worked as counsel in a number of real estate projects, including the development and financing of shopping centers such as Plaza Las Américas, Torre de Plaza and Plaza del Caribe and hotels and resorts such as the Caribe Hilton, the Condado Lagoon Villas and the Resort at Cayo Largo. He also has experience in photovoltaic and wind farm projects.
Mr. Morales-Steinmann, who participated in the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport public-private partnership bid, has experience structuring and preparing agreements for the acquisition, sale and leasing of commercial properties as well as organizing horizontal property regimes and drafting the documentation for declarations of condominium. His experience also includes financial institutions, having acted as counsel for FirstBank and Banco Popular in loan structuring and documentation.
He is an ex-member of the Puerto Rico Board of Bar Examiners.
Recent accomplishments include acting as local counsel for the $115,000,000 Building Loan Agreement for a new five star hotel at the Resort at Cayo Largo in Fajardo, Puerto Rico and the acquisition of the multiple assets of the Coco Beach Resort in Rio Grande, Puerto Rico, including the residences, golf courses and country club.
