Social responsibility has always been an essential part of McConnell Valdés’ mission. This commitment to give back to the community led to the establishment of the Pro Bono Program during the Firm’s 60th anniversary.
In 2016, the McConnell Valdés Pro Bono Program celebrated 10 years of continuous contribution to the development and strengthening of the nonprofit sector in Puerto Rico. Over 10,600 hours in free legal services were donated in those 10 years, the equivalent of over $2 million dollars. During that time span, approximately 300 not-for-profit organizations in Puerto Rico benefited from the Program.
Ten years after its founding, the Pro Bono Program continues to be the only program of this kind institutionalized in a law firm in Puerto Rico. Today, and in light of the critical times facing Puerto Rico, the Pro Bono Program reaffirms its commitment to continue contributing to the strengthening of not-for-profit organizations in Puerto Rico dedicated to the development of initiatives that promote the well-being of the communities they serve.
