Edwin O. Figueroa-Álvarez rejoins McConnell Valdés
We are delighted to welcome Edwin O. Figueroa-Álvarez back to McConnell Valdés as Counsel in our Tax Practice Group.
Edwin advises local and international clients on a wide range of Puerto Rico tax matters, including income, sales and use, excise, property, municipal, and construction taxes. His practice focuses on tax planning and compliance, tax incentives, business transactions, tax exposure assessments, and representation before government agencies and state and federal courts in audits, investigations, deficiency proceedings, and other tax controversies. He also provides strategic counsel on the tax implications of business acquisitions and dispositions, operations in Puerto Rico, and development and construction projects, and regularly negotiates tax incentives and closing agreements.
Before rejoining McConnell Valdés, Edwin practiced at another leading Puerto Rico law firm. Since 2018, he has served as an Adjunct Professor of Tax Law at the Inter American University of Puerto Rico School of Law. He is a frequent speaker at professional seminars and the author of numerous publications on tax-related matters.
