For the second time this year, McV attorneys Antonio Escudero-Viera, Miguel Rivera-Arce and Lillian Toro-Mojica will offer a series of talks on legal topics relevant to nonprofit organizations that have recently received grants from the Fundación Angel Ramos.

The topics include corporate governance guidance for nonprofit board members and officers, applicable labor laws and regulations for employees and volunteers, and Puerto Rico and Federal tax exemption legal issues and guidance.

In addition, the participating nonprofit organizations may request legal assistance from the McConnell Valdés Pro Bono Program to address issues concerning corporate, labor and tax matters.

The talks and the legal assistance provided by McConnell Valdés attorneys are part of the ongoing two-year collaboration among the McConnell Valdés Pro Bono Program, Fundación Angel Ramos, and Asesores Financieros Comunitarios to promote capacity building in Puerto Rico’s nonprofit sector.
