RFPs for the Construction of Industrial Microgrids Issued

On July 8, 2018, the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Company (“PRIDCO”) published five (5) Requests for Proposals (“RFP”) for the construction of microgrids to be located  at selected PRIDCO industrial parks throughout the Island.

The purpose of the RFPs is to solicit qualified firms interested in financing, developing, designing, constructing, operating, and managing microgrid projects at the selected Puerto Rico industrial sites to improve their power quality, energy resiliency, and operational continuity.

 The RFPs involve industrial sites in the following municipalities:

  • Aguadilla, Aguacate Industrial Area, serving the aerospace, defense, cloud computing, and biotechnology industries;
  • Añasco, serving the biopharma and technology industries;
  • Jayuya, Santa Bárbara Industrial Park, serving the biopharma industry;
  • Juana Díaz, Finca Cristina, serving the medical devices industry; and
  • Santa Isabel, Felicia Ward, serving the aerospace, agricultural research, and logistics industries.

Proposals must be submitted on or before August 24, 2018, 4:30 p.m. AST. Parties interested in submitting a response to the RFP are invited to participate in an orientation meeting to be conducted on July 13, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. AST. Any questions regarding the RFPs or the evaluation of proposals must be submitted on or before July 20, 2018, in writing, via electronic mail only, to the following address: Industrialmicrogrid@pridco.pr.gov. Answers will be issued by close of business on August 3, 2018, and will be posted on PRIDCO’s website at www.pridco.com.
