Biography

Ms. López del Valle’s primary practice areas include general civil litigation and arbitration, with an emphasis on Securities Arbitration and Intellectual Property. 

Prior to joining the firm as an Associate in 2012, Ms. López del Valle worked at McConnell Valdés as a Summer Associate in 2010 and 2011 as well as a Paralegal Intern during the summers of 2008 and 2009. While in law school, she served as Associate Editor and Submissions Editor of the University of Puerto Rico Business Law Journal. 

Ms. López del Valle is a member of the Board of Directors of Opera de Puerto Rico, a non-profit cultural organization. She is also a member of the Georgetown University Alumni Admissions Program.  As such, she interviews high school applicants and submits letters of recommendation to the Admissions Committee in Washington, D.C. 

Ms. López del Valle speaks Spanish, English, Italian, and French.

Representative Cases

  • Suliman Rodríguez, et al. v. Banco Popular de Puerto Rico, Civil No. 15-3147: She was part of the team that represented Banco Popular before the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Successfully obtained dismissal, on summary judgment, of action concerning allegations of lending discrimination based on national origin and alienage.
  • S. Tous S.L. v. Dionisio Acosta, et als., Civil No. 13-1383: She was part of the team that represented Tous in one of the largest trademark, copyright, and civil counterfeiting cases filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, successfully obtaining ex-parte temporary restraining orders, seizure orders, permanent injunctions, and, eventually, judgment for plaintiff.
  • Nicole, Inc. d/b/a Nicole Lee v. VO Distribution, et als., Civil No. 15-2275: She was part of the team that represented Nicole Lee in this trademark, copyright, and trade dress case filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico, successfully obtaining ex-parte temporary restraining orders, seizure orders, permanent injunctions, and, eventually, judgment for plaintiff.
  • González-Morales, et al. v. UBS Bank USA, 63 F.Supp.3d 191 (D.P.R. 2014): She was part of the team that represented UBS Bank before the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Defeated plaintiffs’ motion to remand to state court and obtained an order upholding the credit line agreements’ mandatory forum selection clauses and transferring the case to the District Court for the District of Utah.
  • Francisco J. Ortiz & Co., Inc. v. Masco Corporation of Indiana, 2015 W.L. 7828443 (D.P.R. 2015): She was part of the team that represented Masco before the U.S. District Court for the District of Puerto Rico. Obtained an order compelling arbitration and dismissing the case without prejudice.
  • Currently involved in the defense of multiple FINRA arbitrations filed by Puerto Rican investors against UBS Financial Services, Inc. and UBS Financial Services Incorporated of Puerto Rico following the 2013 Puerto Rican economic downturn.
