The following are important updates issued by the Federal and Puerto Rico Court Systems:
FEDERAL COURT
The US District Court for the District of Puerto Rico issued an order clarifying that all foreclosure proceedings are stayed until May 30, 2020, and that such stay applies to new foreclosure cases filed as well as all pending cases at any stage. See the Order here.
PUERTO RICO COURTS
In view of the new directive issued by the Governor yesterday afternoon, the Puerto Rico Supreme Court extended all terms that would have expired between March 16, 2020 and April 26, 2020, until April 27, 2020. See the Resolution here. The Director of the Office of the Courts Administration further stated that all hearings scheduled between March 31 and April 10 are continued.
