Following McV’s long standing tradition of evolving and identifying areas of growth and opportunity, we are proud to announce the rebranding of our Real Estate & Finance Practice Group to Real Estate, Hospitality & Finance Practice Group, and the creation of the Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Team.
The rebranding recognizes one of the Firms’ most highly reputable practice areas and follows the global trend of recognizing the hospitality practice’s essential role in a full service law firm, particularly in leading tourism destinations such as Puerto Rico. The group has participated in the acquisition, development and financing of the most iconic real estate and hospitality projects in Puerto Rico in the past 40 years. It is the largest self-standing practice of its kind in Puerto Rico and is recognized for providing counsel in highly complex and sophisticated real estate and commercial financing transactions, representing Puerto Rico, U.S. and foreign financial institutions and their borrowers.
The Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice Team was created to help clients navigate the increasingly complex data privacy and cybersecurity landscape in Puerto Rico, recognizing the pressing need businesses have to rely more on the personal data they collect from their customers, the constantly evolving regulatory framework they face, as well as the ever more present threat of becoming targets of data breaches, ransomware and other cyberattacks. The team is composed of Arturo J. García, Ernesto Mayoral, Ricardo García, Dora Peñagarícano, Isabel Torres, Adrián Goyco and Luis Cáceres.
