Arturo J. García-Solá, McV’s Managing Director, announced several management changes within three of the firm’s Practice Groups, and in its Business Development and Strategic Planning Committees.
Anita Montaner-Sevillano was designated as the new Chair of the Labor & Employment Law Practice Group. Miguel Rivera-Arce will continue as the Practice Group’s Vice Chair.
“On behalf of the Policy Committee, I thank Alfredo Hopgood-Jovet for his unrelenting commitment to the growth of the labor practice and for building a strong bench of talent in the Practice Group during his tenure as Chair. Under his exemplary leadership, the Practice Group obtained, during four consecutive years, Chambers & Partners’ highest ranking - Band 1- for Puerto Rico. Alfredo chaired the Practice Group during the past 14 years, and throughout these years, he successfully tackled the challenges and encouraged his team to continue to move forward and to perform at their best” Mr. García-Solá stated.
In view of Mr. Hopgood’s excellent business development skills, he was appointed as the new Chair of the Business Development Committee. Samuel T. Céspedes Jr. will step down as Chair, but will remain as a member of the Business Development Committee. Salvador Casellas and Isis Carballo will be joining the Business Development Committee as new members.
To focus on her new role as Chair of the Labor & Employment Practice Group, Ms. Montaner will step down as Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. Rubén Méndez-Benabe was appointed to be the new Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. In addition, Yamary González and María Antongiorgi will be joining the Strategic Planning Committee as new members.
Furthermore, Jorge Ruiz-Montilla was designated as the new Chair of the Real Estate & Finance Practice Group, with Patricia George-Iguina as Vice Chair.
“My gratitude to Salvador Casellas for his steadfast leadership of the Practice Group during the past 8 years. He successfully led the Practice Group during tough economic times in Puerto Rico, managing the Group through the many challenges to grow diverse practice areas” Mr. García-Solá stated.
In the Tax Practice Group, Isis Carballo will continue as Chair, while Yamary González has agreed to remain in a leadership role as Vice Chair for a transitional period of one year.

The Firm is fortunate to have such great talent from within to make all these changes, which will help it continue to grow and achieve its goals" Mr. García-Solá stated.
